Octapoo, the owner of the largest shop on the server, the Octamall, has begun construction of the newest wing of the Octamall, continuing the existing hallway north to allow more room for more shops. This new expansion of the Octamall to the north will nearly double the size of the building, making it one of the largest in the Downtown area. This new expansion has also been adopted by the Aquaspawn City Council as apart of its Urban Revitalization Plan, which aims to develop or re-develop abandoned properties and historically griefed land in the Downtown area.

“I’m almost about out of room for more shops” Says Octapoo, in an interview with the Tadog Daily Piper’s own Barb Dwyer. “With the new expansion, we will be able to accommodate everyone who wants a spot”

The Octamall has been gaining popularity in recent months, with many new players joining the server and wanting to have their slice of success in the business of merchandizing. According to the Tadog Mercantile, sales at the Octamall location have more than doubled in recent months, indicating a spike in foot traffic in the area. The new expansion of the Octamall will look very similar to the existing section of the Octamall, with proposed side branches going East and West from the main hallway to utilize more space. This expansion will also allow the Octamall to connect to many public and private structures and pathways, such as the Tadog path and railway system, and Old State Clara.

The Aquaspawn City Council is excited for this project, as it will help to improve on existing infrastructure, and bring more positive development to the area. Critics warn that the Octamall expansion will create a monopoly over shops, where the Octamall could impose a rent or cut on all goods sold in the Octamall.

“That is the very reason why I do not have a rent” Octapoo replied in response to the critics. “The Octamall is to remain a free and easy environment for one stop shopping.” Some critics believe the Octamall cannot afford this expansion without charging rent, however Octapoo says funds have always, and will always be fueled by Octapoo’s shop within the Octamall. “More expansion will bring more foot traffic to my shop, which will allow me the funds to continue to expand and improve the Octamall.

Reports also indicate the Octamall has submitted an official request to the Aquaspawn City Council and Tadog Historical Society with regards to the oldest and existing portion of the Octamall. Neither the Aquaspawn City Council or the Tadog Historical Society could not comment on the current affairs, however some are suggesting the Octamall may want to remove or repair the oldest section of the Octamall.
